In our daily lives, various tracking systems can capture our data without consent through different technologies. EyeQLenz™ with Zenni ID Guard uses advanced lens coatings that reflect a significant portion of near-infrared light, which is commonly used in these systems, to help disrupt infrared-based tracking.

The key difference is in the enhanced infrared-blocking capability. While the original EyeQLenz blocks about 61% of near-infrared light, EyeQLenz with Zenni ID Guard features an advanced IR-absorbent hard coating that reflects up to 80% of near-infrared light (700-1000 nm) — an 18% improvement in protection. This enhanced capability can provide better protection by helping disrupt unwanted tracking. Both lenses offer the same photochromic technology, blue light filtering, and 100% UV protection.

Yes! As photochromic lenses, EyeQLenz will adapt to different lighting conditions so you can wear the same pair of glasses both indoors and outdoors. The lenses remain virtually clear when indoors and filter blue light from digital screens. When exposed to UV light outdoors, the lenses will darken to sunglasses to protect from sunlight and infrared light. An iridescent pink sheen on the lenses provides an extra layer of protection against infrared light. Please note that the lenses will not darken while driving, as some car windshields have built-in UV protection.

The iridescent pink sheen is caused by our special anti-infrared coating, which is your sign that the lenses are actively reflecting infrared light to disrupt unwanted tracking. This subtle tint is actually the visible evidence of the technology at work—when you see that hint of pink, you know your lenses are providing protection. Rest assured, this distinctive characteristic doesn't affect your vision clarity or significantly change how your glasses look when you're wearing them.

EyeQLenz™ with Zenni ID Guard is available in single vision, standard/premium progressive options, and non-prescription options. Currently, we do not offer these lenses in reader or bifocal prescriptions.

Because EyeQLenz™ reflects most near-infrared light, it may disrupt features like facial log-in that rely on infrared detection. You may need to remove the glasses for these features to work properly. This is an indicator that the anti-IR coating is working as intended.
