You know an eyeglasses frame style has hit the big time when variations on its theme start to appear. Take browline glasses, the kind made famous by two disparate, iconic 1960s figures, Malcolm X and Colonel Sanders. While the classic browline frame has rounded lenses and a metal bridge that recalls the metal undercarriage on the lenses, this full-rim, medium-wide, acetate and metal eyeglasses frame mixes it up with rectangular lenses and a thick, “unibrow” bridge, undergirded with gold-colored metal rims beneath the tortoiseshell brow line. The glasses also feature a diagonal double stacked, horizontal ornament with curved ridges on the spring-hinged temple arms, which are embedded with stainless steel rods to make them easy to adjust. Silicone nose pads are included for a comfortable fit on the nose. This is perfect for a pair of glasses that square (OK, rectangular) the circle, as it were.
